Who am I?

My name’s Anthony Hewson, and I’m a freelance copywriter, copy editor and proofreader based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

Being a freelance copywriter means I spend a lot of time working from home, forgetting how to talk to people face to face.

So if  I want some basic human interaction, I stroll into town, grab a coffee, read the paper, perhaps do some writing. And on Wednesday 8th April at about 11:30 that’s what I did, and that’s how Small Change was born…

  1. Hi Ant,

Fab idea and fantastic website – love it! Keep up the good work. I’ll sure be keeping my eyes open for the pennies…..or the pounds or whatevever comes in my path and save it up.

  2. Hi

Fantastic blog, which I’ve only just happened upon via LinkedIn, where you connected to someone I know (of which the system kindly notified me).

I saw your photo there, and feel as if I know you and your girlfriend already, I so often see you both about town. In fact, until seeing your photo with your name next to it, I always thought you were someone else! (and can think of at least one occasion where I was exceedingly friendly to you and your girlfriend because I thought you were related to someone else I know…cringe).

And now I know you have my dream profession and ‘spend a lot of time working from home, forgetting how to talk to people face to face’ (me too), I know why I always see you about town at times when normal people are working. Excellent!

I may say hello next time I see you, but I must ask now: why spend so much time at Starbucks (where I often see you)? You must love this town to bits as much as I do, so why not while away your free(lancing) days at local businesses who could surely more benefit from your own small change?

    (But I digress…)

[ps – and from another page here: ‘thanks Clement Joscelyne for closing down your admittedly vastly-overpriced shop and leaving a lovely building empty’ – Exactly!]

    Cheers from another rambling Hitchinite
